Not a huge surprise. I said if she drove well, she could change my opinion. She obviously had a good car, qualifying on the pole proofed that, but she did nothing with it while she’s was still in the race. She worked her way up to the front a couple times, but considering she was working with Stewart and Junior, 2 of the best super speedway drivers in the field, she should have been able to hang out in the front.
And the fact that she was obviously rattled by pack racing, is actually pretty scary considering she’s driving in the Daytona 500 tomorrow, which is going to be as crazy, if not crazier. And yes she got hit by Whitt going into the corner, but these Nationwide cars still can do that without too many issues. Hell, at one point Richardson and Annett practically spun around in the middle of a pack, in the corner, and both of them made saves that even Kyle Busch would be impressed by. And yet, Danica can’t save a car that’s been tapped.
But hey, that’s just, like, my opinion, man.
